Nergard - Eternal White (CD)

NERGARD was founded in 2010 by Norwegian musician Andreas Nergård with the ambitious idea of creating a studio project featuring guest performances by world-renowned artists. In the years that followed, they released two albums showcasing some of the most acclaimed singers and musicians, including Elize Ryd, Ralf Scheepers, Göran Edman, Mike Vescera, Michele Luppi, Tony Mills, David Reece, Michael Eriksen, Nils K. Rue, and many more. NERGARD also had the privilege of performing at prestigious events, such as opening for the legendary Stratovarius on the main stage of Trondheim Metal Fest in 2015 and headlining their own sold-out shows.

After a few quiet years while Andreas was involved in other projects, NERGARD reemerged in the summer of 2020 with a tribute single to the late Tony Mills (SHY, TNT), which inspired Andreas to begin working on new music. As he developed ideas for a new album, Andreas decided it was time for a new era for NERGARD. With a consistent lineup of permanent vocalists, the group is now led by a multinational trio – Stefani Keogh (UK), Andi Kravljaca (Sweden), and Mathias Molund Indergård (Norway).

This new era takes NERGARD’s sound into darker symphonic realms reminiscent of Nightwish, Kamelot, and Avantasia. Titled Eternal White, the new album is a concept piece based on the tragic story of the Carolean Death March in 1719, during which 3,000 Swedish and Finnish soldiers froze to death while retreating from a failed invasion of Norway. The story unfolds across 10 tracks, showcasing the dynamic new lineup while maintaining the high-caliber music we’ve come to expect from Andreas. With a nostalgic nod to NERGARD’s past, the album also features a guest performance by the formidable Tim "Ripper" Owens (Judas Priest/Iced Earth) on the track "Now Barely Three."
