"Shadows at the Light of Dawn" marks the bold return of Nefastis with their most ambitious and narrative-driven release to date. Crafted as a concept album in four acts, the record blends sweeping symphonic arrangements, progressive depth and the intensity of melodic and extreme metal, unfolding within a haunting post-apocalyptic world. Each track contributes to a continuous emotional and musical journey, designed to be experienced from beginning to end without interruption.

Formed by Simone Colombo, Andrea Lenzi, Fulvio Manganini and Claudio Invidia, Nefastis shape a sound that bridges classical orchestrations, acoustic passages, thrash- and death-influenced riffs, atmospheric layers and darker black-metal accents. Their wide musical background translates into a dynamic and expressive palette, where aggression, melancholy and grandeur coexist seamlessly.

Recorded between Virtual Light Studio and 33Hz Studio, mixed by Frank Altare and mastered by Tony Lindgren at the renowned Fascination Street Studios (Amorphis, Kreator, Dimmu Borgir), the album delivers a modern and detailed production that enhances both its orchestral scope and its metal foundations. Additional contributions by Simone Campete (orchestrations), Iacopo Hacken (piano, keyboards, synths) and Rhen Stillnight (female vocals on tracks 11 and 12) enrich the sonic landscape with depth and contrast.

From the foreboding opening suite "Cosmic Silence at the Edge of the New World" to the emotionally charged and progressive closing chapter "Flowers Swept Away by the Autumn" the album stands as a cohesive and evocative work shaped to immerse the listener in a world of desolation, resilience and inner transformation.

A compelling release for fans of Wintersun, Hypocrisy and Fleshgod Apocalypse, "Shadows at the Light of Dawn" positions Nefastis as one of the most intriguing and visionary bands in the Italian symphonic death metal scene.
