Originating from Modena, Italy, Karmian have grown into one of the most distinctive voices in modern melodic death metal blending the sharp intensity of the Swedish school with an unmistakable Italian sense of drama and emotional depth. After refining their identity through releases such as "Ways of Death" and "Surgere et Cadere", the band now reaches its most ambitious and mature chapter with "Horror Vacui".
Recorded at Audiocore Studio with producers Luca Cocconi and Simone Sighinolfi, "Horror Vacui" is a conceptual descent into the psychological and existential void behind real acts of murder and madness. Each of the nine tracks is inspired by true Italian crime cases, reinterpreted not to glorify violence but to reveal the emptiness, alienation and moral collapse that fuel it. Through these portraits, Karmian explore a recurring theme: when meaning disappears, the void itself becomes a destructive force.
Musically, the album expands the band’s signature sound with intricate dual-guitar work, powerful rhythmic intensity and expressive vocal narration. Brutality and melody intertwine with tension, despair and introspection, shaping a soundscape that is as aggressive as it is immersive.
