DAIDALOS - Dante (CD)

With “Dante”, German composer and multi-instrumentalist Tobias Püschner opens a new chapter for Daidalos, his visionary symphonic black metal project. Founded in 2020, Daidalos emerged as a one-man exploration of history, emotion and the human soul through sound - blending the grandeur of orchestral composition with the aggression and darkness of extreme metal.

Following the critically acclaimed debut “The Expedition” (2022), inspired by the tragic Franklin expedition, “Dante” represents a deeper and more personal descent. Rather than simply retelling The Divine Comedy, Püschner reinterprets Dante’s journey through Hell as a mirror of modern despair, faith and human fragility. The result is a melancholic black metal audio drama - atmospheric, emotional3 and meticulously composed.

Entirely written, performed and produced by Püschner himself, “Dante” merges furious riffs, cinematic orchestrations and dramatic choral layers into a single continuous arc. Each track acts as a chapter in a descent - from the first lost steps in the dark forest to the final escape through fire and silence. The album was recorded at Tobias’s home studio and mixed and mastered by Nahuel Lozano (Mental Cruelty), who also recorded guitars and bass providing the record with its powerful modern edge.

Visually, “Dante” is complemented by original artwork from Bérénice Tulliez / Noirs Dessins, expanding the conceptual scope into an aesthetic experience. Together, music and visuals form a cohesive narrative - Dante is not designed for trends but as an expression of the artist’s soul.
