"Airspeed" released by Jolly Roger Records in 2012, features remastered versions of two pivotal demos from the Italian hard rock band Airspeed from 1983 and 1985. Initially rooted in the heavy metal wave inspired by British bands such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, the band’s sound evolved significantly by the second demo. The earlier tracks exhibit a pure heavy metal style, while later songs blend progressive rock and hard rock elements, marking a distinct shift in their musical direction after several lineup changes. This collection highlights a key period in Italian metal, despite the absence of their third demo from 1986 due to copyright restrictions.
