A CIRCUS is a hard rock studio project with deep roots in the old school hard rock world. This international ensemble, brought together by guitarist Luca Federici, promises to deliver a powerful and unique sound.
Luca Federici and his father Alfredo Federici, who are the guitarist and bassist on the album as well as the main composers, have crafted a project that brings together some extraordinary talents. The band features the legendary Shane Gaalaas on drums which impressive career includes playing with guitar virtuosos such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, Vinnie Moore and Japanese rock superstars B'z. His exceptional drumming skills bring a dynamic energy to the record.
Adding to the band’s stellar lineup is the incredible Ronnie Romero on vocals. Ronnie, the Chilean singer discovered by Ritchie Blackmore for the latest incarnation of Rainbow, is also known for his many other high-profile collaborations. His powerful and versatile voice perfectly completes this ambitious project, bringing a unique depth and emotion to the music.
The self-titled debut is a dive into the classic prog rock sound… and more!
The sound of A Circus can be only described as….totally anachronistic. For A Circus, music and lyrics travel in tandem. Normally, if Luca has an idea about a certain topic, he writes lyrics and notes almost simultaneously - one is bended on the other. The band’s top influences are Rainbow, Queen, Deep Purple, Ozzy, and Blackmore’s Night.
The album speaks to everything around us, portraying a sort of circus full of clowns and acrobats where the real and the surreal coexist every day. It’s a journey through various places and atmospheres of the same world with a clear sonic coherence - the classic sound of progressive hard rock. There’s a subtle darkness throughout, contrasted with just a few moments of light. It’s a work with clear references to the past but that lives its own life in today’s world.
