In 1998, Rigoni co-founded Ascra, a Dream Theater cover band, alongside drummer Enrico Buttol. In 2003, he joined the progressive metal band Twinspirits, led by Daniele Liverani. With Twinspirits, he released three albums: The Music That Will Heal the World (2007), The Forbidden City (2009), and Legacy (2011).

Rigoni embarked on his solo career in 2008 with the release of his debut album, Something Different. This marked the beginning of a prolific output, including albums like Rebirth (2011), Three Wise Monkeys (2012), and Odd Times (2020). Over the years, his solo works have featured collaborations with acclaimed artists such as Kevin Moore (ex-Dream Theater), Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson), Jordan Rudess, Marco Minnemann, and Thomas Lang.

His solo discography includes works like EvoRevolution (2018), Prog Injection (2019), Odd Times (2020), For the Love of BASS (2021), and Songs for Souls (2022), the latter dedicated to the memory of his late father. In December 2024, the album Nemesis Call is set to be released, featuring contributions from renowned artists like Mike Terrana and Thomas Lang.

In addition to his solo endeavors, Rigoni founded the band BADASS (later renamed BAD As) in 2016, releasing multiple albums and touring Europe, including opening slots for artists like Vinnie Moore. He also co-produced the Vivaldi Metal Project and initiated the Bassists Alliance Project with Jeff Hughell, which brought together a host of internationally celebrated bassists.
